How are passwords generated?
We use your browser’s cryptographic random generator with unbiased character selection. Every chosen character group is represented. Choose 8–128 characters; a longer unique password is generally preferable when supported by the service.
Are generated passwords saved?
No. Passwords stay in this page’s memory and are not transmitted, placed in the URL, logged or saved to browser storage. Clear removes the displayed value; leaving the page clears it too. Copies can remain in your clipboard or password manager.
Why use a different password for each account?
Reusing a password can put other accounts at risk when one service is compromised. Store unique passwords in a trusted password manager and enable multifactor authentication when available.
Can I adjust character types?
Yes. Select letters, numbers and symbols to fit the account’s rules. Avoid similar characters removes characters such as O, 0, I, l and 1. Fewer allowed characters reduce the set of possible passwords; do not assume a generated password meets every site’s policy.
