Color Code Converter
How to use this tool
Convert an sRGB color between HEX, RGB and HSL, including alpha transparency.
- Enter a HEX, RGB or HSL value, or use the color chooser.
- Convert to see the swatch and equivalent values.
- Copy the format required by your stylesheet or design tool.
When it helps
For example, #23654d becomes rgb(35, 101, 77). HSL expresses hue, saturation and lightness; alpha controls transparency. These are screen color values, not a print-profile or CMYK conversion.
Quick answers
Which color codes are accepted?
Use 3, 4, 6 or 8 hexadecimal digits, with or without #; RGB channels from 0 to 255 or percentages; or HSL with a hue in degrees and saturation/lightness percentages. RGB/HSL accept comma or space syntax and optional alpha, including rgba() and hsla().
Does conversion change the color?
Outputs represent the same sRGB color within rounding. HEX and RGB channels use 8-bit precision. HSL values are rounded to two decimals, so repeatedly converting rounded values can introduce small differences.
How is transparency handled?
Four- and eight-digit HEX include alpha. RGB and HSL can use an alpha value from 0 to 1 or 0% to 100%. The swatch shows transparency against a checkerboard; HEX alpha is rounded to an 8-bit value.
Are colors sent to a server?
No. Conversion happens on your device without accounts or saved history. This tool does not convert CMYK, print profiles, Display P3, Lab or named colors.
